Drop anchor and set sail: as the oldest navigable waterway in Germany, the Finow Canal in the north of Berlin has a unique status for water sports enthusiasts and leisure captains.

With the relaunch of the website, the special-purpose association is focusing on tourist highlights along the canal and on the perfect vacation on and around the water. For this purpose, the interfaces of TMB Tourismus-Marketing Brandenburg GmbH were connected to the WordPress and thus around 500 POIs and just as many events in a corridor of 10 kilometers along the Finow Canal were imported. In addition, there is custom content (infrastructure such as supermarkets or public toilets) and useful tips for locks – to ensure an all-round service for the user. A special highlight is the explorer map with Airbnb module in which the imported and own content flow together – all filterable, of course.

The responsive design and data management were implemented on the basis of the WordPress content management system, which enables cost-efficient implementation and further development, especially with regard to updates, new features, SEO, interface design and usability.

The website has been designed to be barrier-free and is also available in English and Polish.
