As the advocacy group for freelance performing artists in the state of Brandenburg, the association represents 43 members and nearly 700 theater and dance professionals.

A database was developed to manage master data (members, venues, events, stages, and repertoire) and other technical details. Members and venues maintain the data themselves using Magic-Link. Once approved, this data is transmitted to the Independent Performing Arts website via an interface (public JSON API).

The Backstage database includes features such as an edit history, its own media management system, user-friendly approval forms for administrators, and an integrated help desk.

In addition, an open data interface based on schema.org has been made available.
